PERSONALITY TESTS

Personality Tests are the vogue now. I become saturated with queries like these; “What’s your Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (M.B.T.I.)?”, “What’s your DISC profile?”, Have you done your BIG 5?”, “Are you a Choleric or a Melancholy?”. My pioneer thought to the latter question was, “I neither suffer from Cholera nor do I eat Melons! The comedian in me loomed very close to retorting that I had ‘multiple’ personalities.

To right any wrong postulations or presuppositions I am not critical of these tests. If truth be told, I have sat for a couple of them. Hence, how do I view their help to me? Firstly, these ‘tests’ have in actual fact enhanced my application of the English terminology! Legitimately though, knowledge of your personality and others’ does help you to a particular measure. Nevertheless that’s where the enthrallment halts.

When push comes to shove, sheer knowledge of your personality and others’ alone do in no way assist. It takes more than knowledge and understanding of A Powerful Choleric for a Powerful Choleric facing another Powerful Choleric! (Sorry for that bit of tongue-twisting) Have faith in me, I know! What stopped me from coming close to thumping the daylights out of someone is the fear of God.

Deathorlife_20050119180331_1 At the end of it all, we need the love & compassion of Jesus Christ to sincerely love another person who is completely dissimilar to us. Many times, I found myself latching on to God’s help to be within 2 feet of another Powerful Choleric! The astounding verity is He does aid me in being benevolent and accepting the idiosyncrasies of others. I deduce the ‘Personality’ that I necessitate most to conform to is that of JESUS.

i think that although personality types can help us to know why we behaviour in a certain way, it doesn’t take away our responsibility to respond to the Spirit of God in obedience. I agree with you that at the end of the day it is about seeing Jesus and following Him :)

Personality tests are cool, but not the Key to Life! Blog on!

Personality tests are just for you to find out more about who you are, but these tests are not to take control of one’s life. Love your blogs, God Bless!
